Front-End Shortcuts for Editing Active Layouts and Style Guides
Community admins can now move directly from a front-end community page to the editing experience for its active layout or style guide.
On supported desktop Layout Editor pages, users with the appropriate admin permissions will see a new admin bar above the community header. The bar identifies the active layout and style guide, indicates when either is the default, and provides shortcuts to:
- Edit the active layout
- Copy the active layout
- Edit the active style guide
The admin bar can be collapsed when it is not needed, and its expanded or collapsed state is remembered as admins navigate through the community.
This makes it easier to manage communities with multiple custom layouts, subcommunities, Knowledge Bases, groups, or language-specific style guides without first navigating through the Dashboard to determine which configuration controls the page. The admin bar is available only on supported desktop Layout Editor pages and is not shown to community members, on mobile devices, or on legacy pages.
Legacy Feature Parity for Discussion Thread Pages
Badgify Comments
Badgify Comments is now supported on Layout Editor discussion thread pages.
Authorized admins can attach a badge to a discussion so users earn that badge by commenting in the thread. The setup flow has also been simplified to focus on the fields relevant to this workflow: Name, Description, Points, and Image.
Users can earn the badge once per discussion, and badge assignment continues to respect category permissions.
NoIndex Controls
The NoIndex Addon is now supported on Layout Editor discussion thread pages.
Authorized users can add or remove NoIndex from the discussion action menu. Flagged content includes the appropriate noindex, noarchive directive and displays an internal visual indicator to users with the required permissions.
NoIndex is supported for discussions, questions, ideas, polls, and group discussions.
Private Discussion Guest Previews
Private Discussion guest preview controls are now available in core category settings and supported on Layout Editor discussion pages.
Admins can configure guest preview behavior separately for each category, including whether guest preview is enabled, whether embeds are removed, and how much content is shown.
These controls work with the existing category access and guest permission model. Comments remain hidden under the existing Private Discussions behavior.
Exclude Announcements from Post List Widgets
Admins can now exclude announcements from individual Posts, Ideas, and Questions widgets, as well as Discussion List assets. This makes it easier to keep announcements in a dedicated section without repeating them at the top of regular content feeds.
The setting adapts to the widget’s selected context. Category- and group-filtered widgets can exclude all announcements from that context, while broader feeds can exclude globally announced posts without removing category- or group-level posts from their normal feed position.
