User Cards
With this release we are introducing user cards to our Knowledge Base and Foundation-based themes. User cards allow you and your users to get a quick preview of a user's profile without having to navigate to their profile.
When you have the "View>Profile" permissions, the user card will appear when you click on a user's username or avatar. The first iteration includes basic info that is available on all Vanilla sites:
- Username
- Avatar
- Title
- Email address
- # of discussions
- # of comments
- Join date
- Last active date
N.B. Email addresses are considered personal information, users need the the "Personal Info>View" in order to view a user's email address.
Other info and profile info is being considered for future iterations of user cards. Feel free to submit requests and use cases on our Product Ideas category here -
User Cards are available by default on Foundation-based themes and on our Knowledge Base pages. If you are using a custom theme, or an older-Vanilla theme like Keystone, or Bootstrap, for example, the feature can be enabled by your CSM. We recommend first testing this on your staging sites.
