Release 2021.008 will be deployed:
- To staging sites: Tuesday, April 20th
- To production sites: Monday, April 26th
- To Enterprise client sites: Monday, May 3rd
New Category Selector on New Discussion Page
This release includes an update to our category picker on the New Post page. Now, when you select a category from the dropdown, the category name and description are loaded into the page to provide users with additional info about the category they are posting to.
N.B. This new category picker is enabled by default in Foundation themes and can be optionally integrated into custom or legacy themes.
Labs
This release comes with a new Labs page in your Dashboard settings. Here you can enable and test out new Vanilla features, pages, or components when they become available.
With this first release, this page will be useful for customers using custom or legacy themes who are looking to start integrating some of our newest components and pages into their existing themes. These are:
- Our new customizable Quick Links menu
- Our new User Cards
- Our new Search Page
These pages and components are enabled by default in Foundation-based themes, and can optionally be integrated into custom or legacy theme templates. For more information check out our documentation
In future, we'll be adding even more options here. These will include additional themeable components and pages, as well as previews of upcoming features.
N.B. These features are enabled by default for Foundation themes, and cannot be disabled.
