Build one practical community strategy as you move through the Fundamentals pathway.
Your finished product
By the end of this workbook, you will have a concise strategy foundation covering purpose, member needs, goals, personas, structure, the member journey, and immediate priorities.
How to Use This Workbook
One workbook. Seven learning sections. One strategy foundation.
Fundamentals Orientation
Complete this section as you work through fundamentals orientation. Keep your earlier answers nearby as later sections build on them.
Instead of completing a separate worksheet after every lesson, you will return to this workbook throughout the Fundamentals Pathway. Each learning module points you to one section. Complete only that section, then stop. The work will build progressively.
Keep it lightweight
You do not need perfect answers. Use what you know today, flag assumptions that still need validation, and refine your thinking as you learn more.
A few ground rules:
- Use evidence where you have it. Mark assumptions where you do not.
- Prioritize. A strong foundation is clearer when it focuses on the few things that matter most.
- Do not repeat work. Later sections as you to carry forward decisions, not rewrite every earlier response.
- Revisit the Strategy Snapshot at the end. That is the document you can share with stakeholders.
SECTION 1: Strategic Alignment
Clarify why the community exists and where member value and organizational value overlap.
