IMPORTANT: The Category as Link addon is currently in the Maintenance stage of our Product Life Cycle. It’s still available to use, but it isn’t being actively enhanced and may not be compatible with all newer features.
The Category as Link addon allows admins to configure a Category to display on your community's main Categories page and in Category-based widgets that has a custom URL. Essentially, the Category then functions simply as a link, not a container, and clicking it sends users to the specified custom URL (which could be a page, another Category, external site, etc.).
Enable the addon
IMPORTANT: This addon is not fully supported, and may not work with all other addons. It is strongly recommended that this is tested thoroughly on your staging site before being used. Refer to the Conflicts section below for more information.

How it works
Once this addon is enabled, you will see a new option, called Redirect Url, when editing a Category:
If a valid link is entered in this field, users will be taken to the provided URL when clicking the Category.
NOTE: Use full, absolute URL syntax, such as:
https://community.example.com/kb/articles/123
https://www.example.com/support
Conflicts
At this time, the HTML Links addon overrides the way Category links are rendered. Because the Category as Link and HTML Links addons have conflicting implementations, they cannot be enabled at the same time, so choose the functionality best suited, and most needed, for your community.
