What dates should display?
You can choose what metadata you'd like to have display on discussion pages when using the Foundation theme.
By default, the date and time of the latest post in a discussion are included in the metadata.
On the Search page, this information displays slightly differently because every search result is a specific post (a discussion or a comment).
For example, a search on the discussion title (from the above example) returns the original discussion post with the Last Updated date for that original discussion.
However, when you search a string specifically from the last post in that discussion, the Last Updated date reflects that specific post rather than the original discussion.
✔️ TIP: You can easily identify the search results as being for a comment because Re: precedes the post name.
Can I set a default time zone?
No. By default, dates and times use a logged-in user's time zone, as set on their device.
However, this can be set by Vanilla Support.
To do so:
- Select your time zone from this list, .
- Send an email message to Vanilla Support, support@vanillaforums.com, with your request.
Can I customize the timestamps in Vanilla?
No. Timestamps cannot be customized; they render automatically based on the end user's browser language.
