Activity Page- Forum/Community Section
The Activity Page is the place in the forum/community where you can find the following:
- New members who have joined
- Profile pictures that have been updated
- Badges, Ranks, Roles that have been earned/given
- Statuses that have been updated
- Leaderboards- this week/all time forum/community users, etc.
To see the real look and feel you may want to check out The Sims Activity Page, My Fitness Pal Activity Page and TomTom Activity Page.
There is also an Activity Section on each user’s profile page. Here users only see their own updates whereas on the forum’s Activity Page they get to see updates across the whole forum.
The activity page may not be appropriate for all communities. Some of our forums/communities do not use this. It is really dependent on the needs and preferences. You may talk to your CSM on how to switch this off.
Activity Page- User/Profile Section
Below is how an activity page would look like in a user/profile section.
Now let’s look at it granularly.
Section 1 covers the user information. By default, email addresses are not visible to other users except Admins/Mods. Users can choose to change this. IP Addresses however will only be visible to Admins/Mods or any users with the “View Personal Info” permission.
Section 2 contains the reactions that the user made across the forum/community.
Section 3 is the part where other users can comment on a specific user’s “wall”.
Section 4 is the part where the comments will stay once added to the wall. This section will also show status updates.
Note: Section 3 can be switched off if you do not want users writing in each other’s wall.
