The Vanilla Labs feature allows you to enable and test new Higher Logic Vanilla features, pages, and components when they become available without needing to switch to Foundation.
Who is it for?
- Vanilla Labs is particularly useful for customers using custom or legacy themes who want to integrate our newest components and pages into their existing themes.
- Vanilla Labs is not necessary if you're already using our Foundation theme, as these features and components are enabled by default.

Access and use Vanilla Labs
- Access the Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings > Addons > Labs.
From here, you can toggle on any of the features and test/use them immediately. Refer to the Vanilla Labs features section above to learn more about each feature.
🛑 IMPORTANT: If your community is already live, we strongly recommend that you first test these features on staging to see if any theme tweaks will be necessary.
📝 NOTE: If the toggles are on and greyed out, this means you're already using a Foundation theme, which uses these features by default.
