Change a Post’s Author

Higher Logic Vanilla’s built-in Change Author feature allows appropriately permissioned users to change the author of discussions, questions, polls, and ideas.

NOTE: You cannot change the author of comments or answers.

Permissions

To change a post’s author, a user’s role must have:

Community > Manage
Discussions > Edit for the category containing the post

If the category uses custom permissions, ensure that Discussions > Edit is enabled for the role in that category.

Where Change Author is available

Custom post layouts: Change Author is available from the post itself and the Recent Discussions list.
Legacy post layouts: Change Author is available from the Recent Discussions list, but not from the post itself.

Change a post’s author

Open the post’s (...) menu from an available location and select Change Author.

In the dialog, select the new author from the Author dropdown.
Click Save.
