📝 NOTE: It is assumed you know how to create custom Dashboards and Charts, and have an understanding of chart Types, Presets, and Metrics. If not, read this article before proceeding.
When building your own Dashboard Charts, you can pull data from various data sources to view different types of analytics events.
This article focuses on the Subscriptions Change data source, which logs an Analytics event when your community users make a change to one of their subscriptions, such as:
- follow or unfollow a category, and
- subscribe to or unsubscribe from Email Digest.
📝 NOTE: This differs from the Subscriptions data source in that its focus is changes to existing subscription activity.
Overview
Each subscription-change event is logged in your Analytics. The basic metric is a total count of subscription-change events for the selected data range of the chart.
You can dive deeper into this count in order to get more granular information about the various subscription-change events.
Filter Chart data
Customize what data displays in a Chart with the Group By and Filter options.
- The Group By options (available for pie graphs, line graphs, bar graphs, and tables) enable you to select from the various aspects of the subscription results to focus the chart on exactly those data.
- You can add Filters to your query to drill into or to exclude data based on the same set of options.
✔️ TIP: You can add one or multiple Group By and Filter options to refine the data as you see fit. Generally, you select Group By options to view specific slices of data, and then use the Filters options for further refinement.
📝 NOTE: These options can be used both to group and filter data.
