Is there specific content across your Higher Logic Vanilla (Vanilla) community you want to group together in order to easily present it to your users?
- With the Add to Collection feature, you can create curated feeds of content for your custom layouts.
- In this article, we'll walk you through the process.
๐ NOTE: Currently, you can only add discussions, ideas, and questions to a Collection, but this will expand to other content types in the future.
Required permissions
A user must belong to a Role with the following permission to manage Collections.
Garden > Community > Manage
Create a Collection
1. Navigate to the Recent Discussions page.
2. Click the ellipsis menu (...) for any discussion, idea, or question, followed by Add to Collection.
3. In the dialog, click Add New Collection to create a text field where you can enter a name for your Collection. You can repeat this multiple times if you want to create more than one Collection.
๐ NOTE: You cannot have duplicate names for your Collections; names are also case-insensitive, so "World Fair" and "world fair" are considered duplicates.
4. When finished, click Submit to create your Collection(s), making them available to add content to.
Add/remove content to Collection(s)
1. Navigate to the Recent Discussions page.
2. Locate the content you want to add/remove to/from a Collection. Then, click the ellipsis menu (...), followed by Add to Collection.
3. In the dialog, any Collections the content currently belongs to are displayed. Click the dropdown to add or remove Collections (you can also click the X to remove a Collection).
4. When finished, click Submit to finalize your changes.
