One feature of analytics that folks do not always know about is the ability to EXCLUDE roles such as staff or admins from your charts:

This allows you to focus on whatever personas matter most depending on the type of chart that you are currently working on!

I'm not great with the analytics side of things so this is probably not as helpful as others 🫤

We've setup a framework for our technical support team to participate on our community as part of their monthly targets. The team wanted the ability to see monthly contributions at a very quick glance so I've setup a custom dashboard for them specifically.

Right now, its just a simple count of posts but I'll be expanding this to include questions solved both individually and the team in general.

I'm curious how you use this data — you mentioned they are used as part of the monthly targets, I would imagine that this is used in mgmt conversations, but curious if you do any sort of staff recognition around points? (I know I'm getting off topic I just like to geek out, excited to have these side convos threaded in the next little while hahah)

Hey @Shauna

We sure do! The team run an internal Support Star of the Month recognition program each month and Reckon Community participation has been included in this since the start of this year.

Historically, its been a challenge in getting other areas of the business to jump on and participate on a consistent basis so I've worked with our leaders in support to create a bit of structure around it.

I did experiment with points/leaderboard but I've kept things very very basic for now with just a monthly post target until the mindset around community participation becomes more the norm. Looking forward, I'd like to start incorporating points and Q&A activity as well.

One of my favourite charts is showing off what our Moderators do in the back-end… the "invisible" work that requires time and resources!

Specifically, SPLITTING posts (new questions on old discussions), MOVING posts (wrong category), and MERGING posts (duplicate ideas).

There are other Types you can add in, too.

Out of curiosity, did you do anything in particular for the comment split filter to be retrieved? I've tried recreating your chart in our production site and I can't seem to get that one to appear. Manually entering it also doesn't help.

Ah! @Rav Singh I've seen this before if the selected date range didn't have the action occur.

Try changing your date range to be really large (e.g. a few months) and then try building the chart.

I've tried this one and get some interesting numbers. For example, this month, it says 3 questions were solved by members, and 0 solved by staff. What is this chart using as reference? The role of the user who clicked on 'accepted answer'? In our use case, no member has solved any questions this month, only moderators have (who are staff)…

To be honest, I'm not sure if this is the best way as I'm a super novice with analytics 🫠

The setup of the full team table showing the count of posts within the time period is below. The same setup applies to each of the individual team member tables but just filtered to that individual only.

The intention of the page views pie graph is more around reviewing how active the team are on our Community vs how many posts are created. Setup below.

Never mind the title; I didn't update it, but playing around with Referrer URIs, you can see the total page views as well as the number of page views or visits for either users or guests based on their unique user ID coming from ChatGPT.

ChatGPT seems to be one of the few that offers referral info.

Definitely could be. Additionally, much of your community is private, so I wouldn't expect a significant amount of LLM traffic or sourcing.
