Hey @Alex Dunne! 👋
Such a good question — and there are a few different ways “assigning” can work in Vanilla, so I just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing before we go too far down one path.
When you say assign posts, are you thinking:
• Using Escalations in the CMD to assign discussions internally? • Or more of a structured workflow where certain folks (staff, volunteer mods, SMEs, group leaders, etc.) are responsible for answering in specific categories or groups?
A couple things that would help us guide you:
I’m also super curious what others in the community are doing here 👀 — there are some creative workflows out there.
Especially now with our newer group improvements, you can optionally give Group Leaders access to CMD escalations within the groups they manage, which opens up some nice distributed moderation models. You can also handle ownership on a per-category basis, depending on how your structure is set up.
And don’t even get me started on what you could layer in with Automation Rules to help route, escalate, or notify the right people automatically 😅 That’s where things get really fun.
If you can share a bit more about the workflow you’re trying to create, we can zero in on the best approach!
Hey @Alex Dunne you can change the reasons! Go to this section of your dashboard:
here you can change, delete or add new report reasons and even constrain reasons to particular roles :)
Hi @shauna,
We're looking to integrate our community into our onboarding process for CS folks so for a few weeks during their onboarding they would be helping to answer questions, thanking users for sharing, liking things… basically upping engagement and getting familiar with the community. At the start we want to be able to assign posts directly to them where they may need to go and investigate the answer so that they get used to knowing where to go to find out information internally. Initially I was thinking that escalations could work but the options are so limited (spam, inappropriate etc.)… if there was an option to customize the escalation reasons that would be great.
Thank you! This is perfect!
