Gamification. Great when it works, but getting it there can be a bit of trial and error as you work to understand what motivates your audience.

I am always amazed when one of my community members responds to a new rank or badge notification (and I almost always get someone!)

I love using ranks to grant different permissions as a way to encourage and reward engagement. But would love to hear from others.
