Are you using multiple Slack channels to inform internal teams?
Good day all,
I am getting ready to go live with my new community and would like to ensure internal teams are notified of community content they need to address.
For example, different channels for:
- Support
- Specific blog authors
- Moderators of specific categories
I realize Vanilla sends email notifications, but we are a Slack-heavy company and I believe I can increase internal awareness and participation if I can utilize multiple Slack channels for specific content / category notifications.
- Is it possible to create multiple Slack channels for community notifications?
- Is anyone utilizing Slack in this way?
Cheers,
Toby

Hey @Tmetcalf
I've connected our Community (via Zapier) to various Slack channels for internal notification on certain actions.
Since we're a support-centric Community, the first zap is a basic one that triggers when new discussions are created and delivered to a Slack channel for our technical support team to view & respond to.
Separately, I've got zaps setup to deliver Slack notifications to a dedicated Community Alerts channel when a member earns a certain rank so I can give them a shoutout in our monthly Reckon Community Rewards roundup post.
Similar to the above, I've also got another zap to deliver a Slack notification when a new staff member joins our Community. Its useful to keep track but also, while our Reckon Staff role is auto-provisioned, the notification prompts me to go in and remove the
member
role.Moving forward, once we've got ideation setup then I'll setup a dedicated Slack channel for our R&D and product teams to receive notification of new feature request posts as they're made. I was hoping there would be a zap that allowed a Slack notification to be sent when an idea hits a certain number of votes but it doesn't look like that's an option.

Thank you @Rav Singh
Glad to know it is possible to set up multiple Slack channels, each for a different team based on content or category.
Have an excellent rest of the week.
Cheers,
