Unique views per thread – How to view, is it possible?

We know for a fact that we can “view the views” for each thread, but surely the views are not unique, and if an user visits a particular thread multiple times, their views will be added to the total number of views. For example, if a thread has 20 views, one cannot really assume that it generated interest, because there is chance that one or two users accessed that same thread 5 times each, affecting the accuracy of the final number of views.

Ideally, there should be a system that excludes the duplicate or multiple views belonging to the same user, and this way we can get an accurate picture of the impact a thread has.

In order to get a count of unique viewers of a thread you can use the Count Unique - User UUID metric function and field.

If you create a score card you'll get the total count of unique viewers -

If you create a table grouped by username, you'll see a list of all viewers. You'll notice multiple pageviews listed for @anonymous and @guest - this will tell you how many unique anonymized users have viewed your content (EU users are automatically anonymized with pageview data) and how many unique guest users have viewed the content.
