Search this community (and your own!) even faster with this fun Chrome hack!

I wanted to share one of my favourite lil browser hacks :)

Basically, following these instructions (see below for my TLDR)

Scroll down to site search and click "add"

Now in that window you can add whatever sites you want to quickly search, I use this for some internal resources, but especially for the Success Community — this will work for your own communities as well!

To start, create the search query you want, for example

https://success.vanillaforums.com/search?domain=all_content&query=funzies&scope=site&source=community

You can also adjust the filters if you want this to search a particular area, just use whatever URL you get after making those adjustments.

So you'll want to add something like this to that chrome add site area

You'll notice i've replaced the search query with %s to get something like

https://success.vanillaforums.com/search?domain=all_content&query=%s&scope=site&source=community

Now, when I am searching in the address bar of chrome, I can simply type the shortcut for the site I want to search then hit tab then type the query I want

When I hit enter, it will land me on the search results badge for the associated page immediately!

I use this about 32849238 times a day and thought you all might find it useful as well to get quick answers to questions that might be answered in community on the fly :)

For those of you that have a lot of end users that search your community a lot, this could be a fun thing to mention to your superusers as well!

What fun browser hacks do you use to engage with community more efficiently?
