Table of Discussions posted

New community moderator here and this is my 1st post.

I'm trying to create an Analytics Dashboard that would show the Discussions (not Questions) posted in a specific period. We will use this data in one of our gamification programs as we try to award our members who actively create useful Content (Discussions).

Here's what I have so far:

This works great if the content was correctly posted as a Discussion, but there are some cases that the member incorrectly posts it as a Question. Our Mods change the type to Discussion, but this content does not show up in this report.

Similarly, when it is initially posted as a Discussion, but is really a Question type, we change it but it shows up in the report (it shouldn't).

Any idea how I can get the information I'm looking for?

Side note - if we could see how many Discussions were posted in a Support Category that should only be Questions, I can also use this as a metric to show the work our Moderators are doing each day to change those posts back into Questions.

Hey Shauna!

For us, we need this as a Metric / analytic for the back-end internally, not as something external. This is because the Questions are tracked for Support Deflection but Discussions are not.

I need to see how many questions were posted in a given time frame, excluding Discussions, to then see how many of those were answered by internal folk (employees) or by members (deflected).

For our use case, a filter would not be best because then I'd have to manually count what shows up in that filter. A chart/number in the back end would be ideal.

Hi all,

Quick note that product is researching ways to get around these edits.

In the meantime, would a date filter on the /discussions page (which also supports sorting by type) work here?

Finally, I want to make sure I understand the underlying need - would the ability to write an automation rule for badges like 'if a user posted at least once in x period, give them y badge' work here as well?
