Our new search service comes with all sorts of new features. Some of these are dependant on using our new search UI such as:
- Member Search
- Search Term Highlighting
- Search Sorting
- Places Search
Our new search UI is available by default for Foundation-based themes. If you are using a legacy Vanilla base-theme, or a custom theme, and you would like to leverage our new search UI, visit the Labs page to enable it.
N.B. Vanilla's Labs page will be released with 2021.008
By default this new search page will look something like this:
Customizing Look & Feel
This page is easily customizable using our theme editor. To get started:
- Navigate to the Themes section of your Dashboard Settings
- Make a copy of your exiting theme. This will launch our theme editor.
The theme editor works best for Foundation themes, but can be used to customize Foundation-based pages and components that are enabled in your theme, such as the new Search page. When you use the editor on a non-Foundation theme, the settings you apply will only impact your Foundation-based components.
With the theme editor you can configure the search page to match your existing theme by:
- Inserting your themes header & footer code
- Customizing your title bar links
- Configuring settings and options to set the pages colours, fonts, link & button styles
Once you've made your changes, give your copy a unique name and save it.
From here, find your new template on the Themes page and click "Apply" to make it live!
